Greenwell Springs, Louisiana – DEMCO reports widespread system impacts from hurricane Ida. At the height of the storm, seventy-five percent of their 113,500 meters experienced outages.

Randy Pierce, DEMCO CEO and General Manager says, “Before repairs and restoration can begin, crews must assess damage across the system which includes 8,887 miles of line, hundreds of poles and cross arms and substations.
Water must recede for crews to access and assess damage and removal of trees, broken poles and lines often require coordination and special equipment.
