Bright Ideas Grant Program

Do you have a bright idea for your classroom that needs funding?


The DEMCO Bright Ideas Grant Program is dedicated to supporting innovative and creative classroom projects that inspire students. We provide up to five $1,000 grants annually to K-12 public school teachers to help turn their ideas into reality.

What We Fund

Your grant proposal should focus on a creative, educational project. We are looking for initiatives that:

  • Introduce innovative new curriculum.
  • Support hands-on learning activities.
  • Cover costs for educational field trips.

Grant Details

  • Up to five (5) grants to be awarded annually
  • Maximum award: $1,000 per grant
  • Funds must be used for eligible project expenses  
    • Learning tools and supplies
    • Classroom-based projects
    • Educational field trips tied to curriculum


Selection Criteria

Applications will be reviewed by a panel based on:

  • Feasibility of the project
  • Clarity and impact of the plan
  • Thoughtfulness of the budget
  • Relevance to student learning

How to Apply

The application process is simple and requires two main steps:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Submit a letter of approval from your school's principal.

Grant applications are judged on the following criteria:

  • The project's feasibility and plan.
  • The clarity and impact on student learning.
  • The thoughtfulness of the project budget.

 

Important Dates

  • Application Deadline: Oct 1-Nov 15, 2025
  • Winners Announced: Dec 1, 2025
  • Project Completion Deadline: End of Academic Year 2025/2026


If You Win

Grant recipients will receive up to $1,000 and must:

  • Complete the project within the academic year.
  • Submit a written summary along with photos or video of the outcome.
  • Be open to a visit from DEMCO for promotional purposes.
