Greenwell Springs, La. — DEMCO is investing in the future of local students through its new Bright Ideas Grant Program, which will provide funding for innovative classroom projects in K–12 public schools across the cooperative’s seven-parish service area.
The program will award five grants of up to $1,000 each to teachers who bring forward creative projects designed to spark innovation, encourage student engagement, and support meaningful learning experiences.
“Every investment in education is an investment in the future,” said Randy Pierce, DEMCO chief executive officer and general manager. “The DEMCO Bright Ideas Grant Program helps ensure teachers have the support they need to inspire tomorrow’s leaders.” The grant may be used to fund innovative curriculum and teaching methods, hands-on learning projects and educational tools, or educational field trips tied to academic goals.
Applications open on October 1, 2025, and must be submitted by November 15, 2025. DEMCO Bright Ideas Grant recipients will be announced on December 1, 2025, and funded projects must be completed by the end of the 2025/2026 academic year. Applications will be reviewed by a panel based on the project’s feasibility, clarity, budget, and overall impact on student learning.
