Greenwell Springs, LA—DEMCO and mutual aid crews continue diligently working to restore power to communities affected by this week’s category 1 tornado.
Progress has been made in reducing outages from yesterday’s count of 4,402 to 1,207. The remaining work is concentrated in St. Francisville and Clinton.
All transmission lines are back in service, and all main feeders have been energized. Additionally, the West Feliciana school system has been successfully energized.
Crews have replaced more than 100 poles in West and East Feliciana parishes and are now working to reconduct lines affected along the miles-long corridor of Highway 421.
Terrain, tangled wires, and debris pose challenges that crews meet with unwavering determination. Despite the complexities, crews have made significant progress.
DEMCO urges affected members to exercise caution around downed power lines and to stay updated on outage and restoration progress via DEMCO.org/storm-center.
