DEMCO Activates ERP: Full Workforce and Additional Resources Staged
Greenwell Springs, LA – Earlier this week, DEMCO activated its Emergency Response Plan in preparation for Hurricane Francine.
“Once again, DEMCO employees are called upon to help our members and our communities by restoring electric service following a weather emergency,” said CEO and General Manager Randy Pierce.
The cooperative is fully mobilized, with all DEMCO employees as well as an additional 236 outside workers staged across the seven parishes within DEMCO’s service territory, ready to respond to any impacts the storm may bring. DEMCO receives critical support through these outside workers from partner contractors and fellow cooperatives, ensuring a swift and coordinated response.
Additionally, thirty-nine crew members from Florida are currently en route, and an additional 110 personnel are on standby, ready to deploy as damage assessments are completed and resource needs are identified.
President Biden has approved Governor Landry’s emergency declaration for Louisiana, including all DEMCO service areas, enabling the allocation of federal resources to assist in restoration efforts.
“As always, our top priority is safety—both for our employees and our members,” Pierce added. “We are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates as Hurricane Francine progresses.”
DEMCO is a locally owned electric cooperative with 117,600 meters serving members in seven southeast Louisiana parishes: Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Livingston, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, and West Feliciana.
