Greenwell Springs, LA – Over 380 workers are mobilized alongside DEMCO’s 150 crewmen to repair and restore power following Hurricane Francine.
Various construction, right-of-way, and distribution contractors from Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana are helping the multi-parish restoration effort, along with electric cooperative mutual aid crews from Arkansas, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas. Seventy additional mutual aid crewmen are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
Outages peaked at 39,000, with system damage in all seven parishes. Current outages are 15,446, with 13% of the system affected.

Ascension: 7,629 outages (15,378 total members)
Livingston: 7,000 outages (48,616 total members)
Tangipahoa: 420 outages (627 total members)
St. Helena: 221 outages (5322 total members)
East Baton Rouge: 156 outages (36,819 total members)
East Feliciana: 20 outages (6130 total members)
West Feliciana: 0 outages (4612 total members)
Crews are working in shifts around the clock until full restoration is achieved. DEMCO follows standard utility practices to repair and re-energize our lines. Our systematic restoration process adheres to a specific sequence to ensure efficiency and safety.
