Dixie Business Development Center, Inc. (DBC)

www.dixiebusinesscenter.org

Founded in 1992 by Demco, the Dixie Business Development Center's main purpose is to help fledgling businesses compete (and eventually succeed) by providing shared services, office space and warehousing. But that's only the beginning. Located in Denham Springs, the DBC also offers consulting, administrative and financing support for these new businesses.

This small business incubator provides new businesses with advantages they can't get anywhere else, including office space at reduced cost and shared services like secretarial assistance, copy and fax machines as well as Internet access and computers.

Begun at a time when economic development in southeast Louisiana was at an all-time low, the USDA Office of Rural Development and Demco provided start-up funds for the business incubator project. We are extremely proud of the DBC because it has been so good for the local community, providing jobs and opportunities for many area residents.
